How do I find Kentucky Down Under?
Kentucky Down Under is conveniently located just off Exit 58 on Interstate 65 in Horse Cave, Kentucky. Our easy-to-find location makes us a perfect stop whether you're traveling through the area or planning a day trip. Simply follow the signs from the interstate, and you'll be on your way to an unforgettable adventure!
Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
No. All admission tickets are purchased when you arrive at Kentucky Down Under. Simply visit our Admissions Office when you get to the park, and our staff will help you get started.
What is included with admission?
Your admission includes access to many of our most popular attractions, including the Australian Outback, Land of Lorries, Mammoth Onyx Cave tours, the Petting Zoo, Animal Shows, and the Woolshed Program.
Are there additional costs inside the park?
Most attractions are included with admission. Optional experiences, such as animal feed for the kangaroos, lorikeets, and petting zoo, are available for $1. Gem Mining and golf cart rentals are also available for an additional fee.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Yes! You're welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy during your visit. We also have an on-site cafe offering a variety of food, drinks, and snacks if you'd prefer to purchase refreshments at the park.
Are pets allowed?
Yes! Well-behaved pets are welcome at Kentucky Down Under. Please keep all pets on a leash and clean up after them so everyone can enjoy their visit.
How do I get around Kentucky Down Under?
You can easily explore the park on foot, or you can rent a golf cart for added convenience. We offer both 4-seat and 6-seat golf carts, and we recommend reserving one in advance to ensure availability.
Is Mammoth Onyx Cave included with admission?
Yes! Guided tours of Mammoth Onyx Cave are included with your admission ticket. The cave stays a comfortable 58 degrees year-round, so you may want to bring a light jacket.
What should I wear to Kentucky Down Under?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes, especially if you plan to tour Mammoth Onyx Cave. Don't forget sunscreen if you're visiting during warmer months, as many attractions are outdoors.
Can I feed the animals?
Yes! Guests can purchase animal feed for $1 to feed the kangaroos, lorikeets, and select animals in the Petting Zoo. Feeding the animals is one of the most popular interactive experiences at Kentucky Down Under.
How long should I plan to spend at Kentucky Down Under?
Most guests spend 3 to 5 hours exploring the park, enjoying the attractions, attending live presentations, and touring Mammoth Onyx Cave. You are welcome to stay and enjoy the park at your own pace during operating hours.
